The Georgia Institute of Technology (commonly known as Georgia Tech) is a research university in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1885, it is regarded as one of the top public universities in the nation. The University’s engineering programs are particularly distinguished, consistently ranking among the top 10 in their respective categories.

Georgia Tech is widely recognized for its commitment to diversity. Among U.S. universities, it confers the most engineering doctoral degrees to minority students and ranks second for the number of engineering bachelor’s degrees awarded to minority graduates. Georgia Tech also awards more engineering doctoral degrees to African Americans than any other college in the country.
