Tulane University is a private research university in New Orleans, Louisiana. With an average class size of 23 students, the University offers a quality educational experience in an intimate learning environment. The school boasts an outstanding variety of academic programs, including liberal arts, business, law, medicine, public health, architecture, engineering, tropical medicine, and social work. Tulane has been a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) since 1958.

The University offers a wide range of on-campus activities, which in recent years have come to involve post-Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts. Tulane students can regularly be found pursuing community service efforts which aim at rebuilding the city. The Campus is also home to a performing arts center, a jazz archive, a political economy institute, and an Amistad research center.  Though the school is located in the heart of a vibrant city, students remain fostered within a tight-knit community; freshmen and sophomores must live on campus, barring a few extenuating circumstances.
