Established in 1693, the College of William and Mary is the second oldest university in the United States. Located in the historic town of Williamsburg, Virginia, William and Mary is renowned for attracting exceptional students with a passion for learning and for providing them with a top-notch education. Voted #5 for Best Undergraduate Teaching and #12 for Happiest Students by the U.S. News and World Report and The Princeton Review respectively, the school’s engaged and committed professors inspire bright and highly talented students to explore new ideas. As a result, William and Mary boasts the highest Fulbright acceptance rate of all top research universities and sends its alumni to medical school at twice the national average. Among the college’s notable alumni are 3 U.S. Presidents, 4 U.S. Supreme Court justices, and many U.S. senators.

Although students at William and Mary are focused and work hard academically, they also know how to have fun. With more than 400 campus clubs and organizations, there is something for everybody. In addition to serious organizations like Students for a Democratic Society and Amnesty International, there are clubs just for fun, such as Anime Society and the Seventh Grade Comedy Club. As the college that invented Greek life, students can also pledge to the existing 14 fraternities and 13 sororities.
